I repurpose antiquated and vintage books into one-of-a-kind journals and sketchbooks. Books that have lived out their purposeful life are transformed for a new purpose. We use the highest quality 24 lb cotton-wove paper for journals and 57 lb Bristol Vellum paper for sketchbooks. After deconstructing the book, I clean the front and back cover. The spine and damaged pages are removed. New paper is cut to match the size of the original book. Salvaged pages from the original book are placed throughout the new journal to maintain the history and character of the original book. The journal is rebound with a sturdy, metal, twin-loop binding that allows the journal/sketchbook to lay flat. I add a logo and an insert in the front that describes the process.
