The Beat Goes On
A festival within the festival highlighted by workshops, performances, and collaborations from some of Louisiana’s best percussionists! Featuring Stanton Moore (Galactic), Brady Blade (Lucinda Williams & More), John Hoffman (Primus), Nikki Glaspie (Prince, The Nth Power), and Sam Shahin (Naughty Professor), the Depot Stage will be alive with performances and collaborations that highlight the world’s oldest artform. Closing out the night is the award-winning TAIKOPROJECT, a traditional Japanese kumi daiko drum group based in Los Angeles, CA.

SQUONK
Squonk creates joyful, boisterous outdoor spectacles by fusing fantastical visual design, playful staging, and high-energy original music. Led by Co-Artistic Directors Jackie Dempsey and Steve O’Hearn, Squonk presents Brouhaha, a riotous romp featuring the Squonkcordion, an enormous musical instrument the audience gets to play. The New York Times called Squonk “ingenious, hallucinatory and hypnotic.”
Squonk will be in residence and performing multiple times for the first weekend of the Revel to the East of the Depot Pavilion. Each performance is 30 minutes and is immediately followed by a free workshop where you can learn about their custom stage and props!

Lunch & Learn Series
Presented by the Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate, this free seminar series takes place daily at the Depot Stage, when admission to the Revel is also free. Topics & speakers to be announced soon!
