Red River Revel Kicks Off 36th Annual Shreveport Farmer’s Market

Shreveport, La. – Red River Revel, Inc. is proud to announce that The Original Shreveport Farmers’ Market opens Saturday, June 4th! For the 36th consecutive year, the Shreveport Farmers’ Market will serve our community by providing bountiful weekly markets! The market will be open every Saturday from June 4th through August 27th from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Festival Plaza, located at 101 Crockett Street in downtown Shreveport.
The Shreveport Farmers’ Market has everything you need on your grocery list and more! The east side of Festival Plaza features fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants, honey, and meats grown/raised within a 150-mile radius of Shreveport. Ranchers sell ethically raised beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. Great breads, jams, jellies, pickles, cheeses, shrimp, various canned goods, seasonings, sauces, and prepackaged meals are also available. And chocolates, cookies, cakes, candies, and pralines will make any sweet tooth happy! In addition to the variety of foods, we have local artisans that have handcrafted items such as art, jewelry, crafts, candles, soaps and dog treats. Prepared breakfast and lunch meals will be available, so bring your appetite!
There is no need to be intimidated by parking downtown. Free parking is available and ample around Festival Plaza! There are several adjacent lots to Festival Plaza, along with the meter parking on the street, all of which are free of charge. There will an ATM onsite and some vendors accept credit/debit cards. The market also accepts Louisiana Purchase (SNAP) transactions to spend with participating vendors, and some farmers accept Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Food Coupons available through parish Councils on Aging.

ABOUT THE RED RIVER REVEL
Created in 1976, the Red River Revel is a 9-day annual arts festival in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana at Festival Plaza. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Red River Revel’s primary function is a showcase of the arts and ongoing arts education. Each October, the event attracts a diverse national audience of over 75,000 attendees, 75+ original art booths, and over 30 local/regional/national live music performances.
